After first designing Brand New School’s website in 2011, in 2013 we redesigned it. The new site has simplified drop-down navigation, a simple two-tone color scheme, a cleaner typographic language, and integrates with two brand new sister sites we launched at the same time: bns.labs and bns.films. All three sites share the same installation of our content management system, Economy, so that they can share data and users. They are visually coordinated but also distinct.

A new system of tagging organizes projects more flexibly and encourages lateral explroation. Many different layouts are possible for project pages.

Both staff and users can use a powerful tool to assemble and share playlists of videos (called “reels” in our previous version of the site). In the new site playlist thumbnails are displayed as mosaics. Brand New School uses this tool for ther main promotional “reels” they share with the public, and for private pitches the generate for prospective clients. Fans can also use the same tool. Finally, a unique custom-developed file sharing feature lets BNS staff collaborate with agencies, clients, vendors, and one another across their offices in New York and Los Angeles.
